How ClimateSort sources, labels and ranks vendors

Independent by design. Every field says where it came from, or is left blank. Vendors can pay for visibility, never for position.

ClimateSort builds free company profiles from each company's own public website and labels every fact by its source. Nothing is scored yet: rankings are shown A–Z until enough sourced data and verified buyer feedback exist. Paid plans add visibility and are labelled Sponsored; they never change a ranking or a label.

No company in the directory has claimed or verified its profile so far, so every value you see today is either self-reported or blank.

Where the data comes from

  • The company's public website, sustainability reports and press releases.
  • Documents a company uploads after it claims its profile.
  • Our own checks against certificates, registries and disclosures.

Each sourced field stores its source URL and the date it was retrieved, so it can be audited and refreshed.

How rankings will work

Rankings will combine verified buyer feedback with objective, sourced data such as certifications (ISO 14001, ISO 50001, ISO 27001, SOC 2, LEED), PUE, renewable share, regions and disclosures. A component is only computed on fields we could source, and coverage is shown. Until there is enough of both, lists are shown in alphabetical order and labelled as a draft.

Independence and paid plans

  • Paid plans buy visibility, never a better position or label.
  • Featured and Category Leader placements are labelled Sponsored and shown separately from the list order.
  • Comparisons follow your selection and are never reordered for paid vendors.

Corrections and claiming a profile

Companies can claim their profile free with a work email on their own domain, then correct details and add documents. Anyone can report an error through our contact page.
